A naturalist-led climb from camp to the ridge lookout, 6 miles round trip with 1,400 feet of gain. Raptors, wildflowers and a summit lunch spot included. Free with any stay — bring boots and a liter of water.

Morning Paddle on Bowl Creek

Glass water, empty coves and mist burning off the banks. Solo kayaks rent from the camp dock with paddle, vest, dry bag and a map of the quiet corners. Half-day rental, $35.

Some of the darkest skies in California, two telescopes, and a guide who knows every constellation by story. Hot cocoa included. $25 per person, clear skies only.

Ninety minutes through wildflower meadows on gentle, kid-safe horses with a wrangler guide. Helmets provided, ages 7 and up. Book at the camp store — rides fill by Friday most weeks.
